About Phu Sang National Park

Phu Sang National Park spans a mountainous region in Phayao Province of northern Thailand, covering an area defined by evergreen forests, hot springs, waterfalls, and limestone hills. The park's terrain includes elevations rising to over 1,000 meters, offering cool weather compared to the surrounding lowlands. The park is ecologically significant, hosting several species of flora and fauna native to the region's deciduous and mixed evergreen forests. Visitors can experience the Nam Phu Hot Spring, a prominent natural feature where warm mineral-rich waters emerge, believed to have health benefits. The park also features diverse wildlife such as deer, wild boars, various bird species, and occasionally larger mammals like bears and gibbons. Recreation opportunities include hiking through well-maintained trails, bird watching, picnicking near waterfalls such as the charming Nam Tok Phu Sang waterfall, and bathing in the hot springs. Historically, the area was declared a national park in 2000 to preserve its unique geological and biological resources. Phu Sang is popular among domestic tourists for its peaceful atmosphere and natural hot springs, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation and nature exploration. Its combination of scenic landscapes, warm springs, and moderate trekking routes makes it accessible to a wide range of visitors.
